If you've spent a few nights on Totenreich, you'll know the map doesn't hand out its best toys for free. The Mystery Box can still save a bad run, sure, but the real chase is the Jotunn Star. It's the kind of Wonder Weapon quest that makes you stop camping corners and actually learn where everything is. Some players practise routes in a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby first, because one missed jump or late setup can turn the whole run into a mess. The quest sends you from the Dry Dock to the Burial Grounds, then up toward the Lighthouse, and it feels more like a proper map story than a random checklist.
Starting at the Dry Dock
The first real job is getting into the control room at the Dry Dock. Hit the crane controls and watch the platform lower near the big ship. This bit catches people out because it's not just “walk over and pick up the item.” You've got to use the moving container, time the wall-jump, and land near the front of the ship. It can feel awkward the first time. Don't rush it. Once you make it across, grab the Chain Links. They don't look flashy, but they're the piece that unlocks the rest of the quest.
Gathering the Odd Supplies
With the Chain Links in your kit, the run opens up. Head toward Storm Bridge and look for the Chili Chunks. They're easy to miss if you're sprinting through with a train behind you, so clear a little space before searching. You'll also need a Lantern. Most groups get it from a special round or from dropping an elite zombie, depending on how the match is playing out. This is where good pacing matters. If your team burns through rounds too fast, you'll be doing the harder steps with tougher zombies breathing down your neck.
The Shrine Fight
Take everything to the Burial Grounds and find the sealed shrine. The Chain Links open it up, and once you place the Lantern on the altar, the room locks down. It's not huge in there, so bring armour, a packed weapon if possible, and someone watching each side if you're in co-op. The undead come in tight waves, and panic reloads will get people killed. After the fight, the walls show a constellation puzzle. Slow down here. Call out symbols, match the order, and don't let one player spam inputs because they think they've got it.
Following Astrid to the Lighthouse
Solving the constellation sequence brings out Astrid, the spectral guide tied to the last stretch of the quest. She'll move through several parts of Totenreich, and your job is simple on paper: keep zombies away from her. In practice, it gets scrappy. Someone should clear the path while another watches the back of the group. If you're on higher rounds, save a specialist ability or a strong equipment piece for the tower climb. Once Astrid reaches the Lighthouse and the ritual completes, the Jotunn Star appears. Players who want more relaxed practice sometimes buy CoD BO7 Bot Lobbies to learn the timing, but earning the weapon in a live match still hits different when you pick it up and start smashing through the next wave.
